Forgotten Passages started as a 100 day project challenge. I decided to create a level a day for 100 days in a row. During those first 100 days I frantically created the majority of the 3D art for Forgotten Passages. I then spent time crafting, touching up, and polishing the game to bring Forgotten Passages to the point that it is today.
Each of the original levels took 2-3 hours to complete. I sketched quick ideas for levels whenever a visual would pop into my mind throughout the day. I took inspiration wherever I could find it, movies, photos, or interesting visual details from daily life.
After my first pass creating the visuals for the game I spent a good amount of time learning some basic C# scripting. This enabled me to script the gameplay interactions in Forgotten Passages. The game ended up being a 3D sketchbook of sorts, quick ideas built into minimal environments.
